Candles functioned as illumination objects before the age of electricity. It also took a major purpose in religious activity. People seems to believe that burning physical
material could connect them to the unknown world, the afterlife. By burning, people builds the communication bridge to the other world, and pass on messages to the supernatural matters that cannot
be seen.
However in modern days, candles
completely changed its function.
It has become a decorate piece to bring people pleasant smell and add elegance to the tedious living space.
